Microsoft is introducing a pay-as-you-go billing model for SharePoint storage overages, allowing admins to pay only for extra storage used beyond the quota. Available from November 2026, it’s opt-in, excludes education tenants, and requires Azure billing permissions. No user impact; manual storage purchase remains an option.
