Microsoft is introducing a pay-as-you-go billing model for SharePoint storage overages, allowing admins to pay only for extra storage used. Rolling out from June to October 2026, this opt-in feature integrates with Microsoft 365 Archive and requires Azure billing permissions. Education tenants are currently excluded.
