MC1325441 — Microsoft Purview | Data Lifecycle Management - Archive OneDrive and SharePoint files under retention

Microsoft Purview Data Lifecycle Management will add an Archive option to retention policies, allowing admins to move inactive OneDrive and SharePoint files to Microsoft 365 Archive. This reduces storage costs, maintains compliance and discoverability, and excludes archived content from Copilot indexing. Rollout begins June 2026.
