MC1325441 — Microsoft Purview | Data Lifecycle Management - Archive OneDrive and SharePoint files under retention

Microsoft Purview Data Lifecycle Management will add an Archive option to retention policies, allowing admins to move inactive SharePoint and OneDrive files to Microsoft 365 Archive. Archived content remains compliant and discoverable but is excluded from Copilot indexing. Rollout begins September 2026 and requires admin configuration.
